TRIUMPH IN KITZBUHEL - TYROLIA CELEBRATES SUCCESSIVE VICTORIES!
Kitzbuhel was a great place for athletes who put their trust in the TYROLIA binding technology this year. Numerous victories in Super G, Downhill and Combined, as well as many podiums, are all testimonials of our success. Because on the legendary Streif course in Kitzbuhel, only the best succeed. TYROLIA - Only perfection provides safety!
The successful World Cup weekend in Kitzbuhel (Jan. 18-20, 2008) kicked off with a triple success: Marco Buchel (LIE) prevailed in the Super G, followed by his sponsor colleagues Hermann Maier (AUT) and Didier Cuche (SUI). More than ever, Hermann Maier returned to the top of his form on that difficult and challenging run and finished with a comeback-victory worthy result, a mere 16 hundredths of a second behind the leader. But that’s not all: the highlight of the Kitzbuhel weekend was - as it is each year - the downhill competition on the Streif. And TYROLIA was unbeatable here as well: Didier Cuche raced down under the most difficult conditions ever encountered on Streif in lightning time, followed closely by Team America’s Bode Miller who fought hard to stay on course! Hermann Maier confirmed he is here to stay with a 5th place finish, as is Marco Buechel with placing 8th.
Above and beyond the speed disciplines, the technical racers provided even more successes over an unforgettable weekend in Kitzbuhel. Superstar Bode Miller won the combined of Hahnenkamm by a lead of 93 hundredths. Rainer Schönfelder (AUT) and Ivica Kostelic (CRO), both on FISCHER bindings powered by Tyrolia technology, achieved a shared 3rd place. Didier Cuche put on his slalom skis after his success in the downhill and placed in the top 10 as well.
More top rankings were achieved in the slalom: Mario Matt (AUT) contributed to the billboard with his 3rd place and another podium for TYROLIA, followed by his colleague Julien Lizeroux (FRA) and Rainer Schoenfelder in 4th and 5th place. With Ivica Kostelic (CRO), Manfred Moelgg (ITA) and Bode Miller, three more athletes powered by TYROLIA technology finished in the top 15.
